Before you agree to anything, ask
Use these to compare providers too.
- Who exactly will do my treatment?
- What is their license, and can I look it up?
- What training do they have with this device or product?
- Is this treatment suitable for my skin type and health history?
- How many visits will I likely need?
- What aftercare do you recommend?
- What is your plan if there is a complication?
- What will the whole thing cost, all in?
A short prep list
- Your medications, including vitamins and supplements.
- Health conditions and any recent changes.
- Allergies and past reactions to products or treatments.
- Past cosmetic procedures, with rough dates.
- Your questions for the provider.
- A notebook or phone to record answers and the quoted cost.
Having this ready helps a licensed provider decide what is suitable for you, and it means you are less likely to leave with an unanswered question.
Take your time
There is rarely a good reason to decide about a cosmetic treatment in a single visit. If a provider pushes you to book that day, that tells you something.
Other signs to slow down: no consultation, vague answers about who performs the treatment, or no written cost. You can look up most health licenses on the North Dakota state board website. A provider who is properly licensed will usually tell you their license type and number if you ask.
Ask your questions first. A local provider can contact you by phone, text or email.
